Rambler 106

The various military services combined to buy a house in Chicago to use to improve recruiting. After two years of declining numbers, it was closed as a house of ill recruit.

The Government Transparency Organization (strictly imaginary) is meeting in Overlook, NC.
(I think they mixed up the words opacity and transparency.)

It appears another 1,000 page plus law (Energy Bill) is in Congress for signature which no one has read. I have a question. Who writes these unread laws? Is it just the lobbyists writing their wish lists and presenting them for signature? At what point do we get REPRESENTatives? If the laws don't get read, why sign them? You might say the bill to curb global warming is getting a cool reception.

  1. Bo Whaley wrote a book entitled "Kudzu Don't Cover Everything" but that was a long time ago. I think he would have to change the name to "Kudzu Just About Covers It All" now.

  2. Sorry boys. Ever had Wisteria. It will kill Kudzu, run it's roots under the ground and come into your house and get you if you don't keep it cut back. Every year when the blooms smell sweet for about a week, I have people ask for a cutting. I always tell them NO, even if I don't like them.
