Israel has banned ham radios.
To reduce the bullying in schools, Great Britain announced that it has eliminated Greenwich Mean Time. France has offered to provide the new standard-Nice Time.
The recent outbreak in New York City in the Broadway district may have been caused by writers being too close to each other on the picket line said the CDC. They have identified the problem as play germism-a possible copycat virus and have treated it locally with white-out. For added reader safety, Harry Potter has been called in to do a spell-check.
President Bush doesn’t make misteaks and doesn’t have any to be sorry about. If you think you sea a mistaik in the Rambler, just say you’re sorry and move on.
Why did we send the terrorist suspects to Guantanamo for interrogation when we had Sing Sing?
When will the two houses address the issue of the medical insurance companies that are handling Medicare? They inflate their prices while reducing payments to the medical profession. They are collecting from both the government and/or businesses and in many cases the retirees. Should they be limited to a fee per transaction or something similar? This is comparable to the disparity between realtors and architects. They both get about the same percentage of the sale, but one has a lot more responsibility. In the medical example, it’s the doctors and hospitals that have the exposure with insurance companies getting most of the markup.
NASA (with more gravity than expected) says the latest space probe sheds new light on dark matter.
A local grocery chain said multi-grains are scoring well in the bread zone.
With older cars we had to call for an appointment to adjust the tappets (valves for younger readers), now we have to adjust our phone calls because “they” tap it.
Monsanto is in a battle with Ben and Jerry’s over labeling. B&J is labeling their products that contain no hormones. Monsanto wants it removed. Appears again that the drug/chemical companies feel we shouldn’t see labels of what’s in our food so they can foist their products on us. I consider this similar to ground contamination by companies where we pay for the cleanup except that one is monetary the other is physical. Other countries have not approved these hormones. I am sure Monsanto knows more than those countries do. This is where my proposal for Taste Testers applies. If Monsanto’s execs would eat products containing these hormones for a few years, I might then believe them. Until then, it appears Monsanto’s attitude appears to be “damn the public, full greed ahead.”
I have decided that if Hillary is correct about her “experience,” I will become a linguist if I eat linguini (so to speak).
My ramblers may use incomplete sentences. I am emulating current and past presidents: Pres. Bush for Scooter Libby (and draft choices to be named later), and Pres. Clinton (too many to list) where they shortened sentences. If I am wrong, pardon me.
For movies and medicines, I am convinced that the more they are advertised, the worse they are or will be found to be (Viox and now Botox-just being faced up to).
The President’s trips to disaster sites remind me of an ad in the 50’s or 60’s for Arpege (perfume):” Promise her anything but give her Arpege.”
To resolve the country of origin problem, Mattel is putting a new label on its toys: No Peking.
The next phase of the ACLU separation of church and state will involve the renaming of towns: St. Cloud will become Cloud, MN ; St Louis will become Louis; San Francisco, CA, Francisco, etc. 5 years will be allowed to rename cities, streets and to redo all maps. It will be a heck (the other term is religious) of a transition.
