Rambler 6

The difference between Hillary and a pillory-one requires you stick your neck out, the other requires you to get your check out.

I wrote earlier about outsourcing prisons. After further thought, why not outsource the House and the Senate? They don’t listen to us; they speak in a different language, and they’re too costly. The retirement benefits alone would amount to considerable savings. Might as well outsource our government, at the rate we are transferring our national debt to other countries- the holders of the debt will soon be our government. This suggestion might lead to a smoother transition.

Should it be renamed “The Gallop Poll” because the results cause politicians to run at full speed in different directions?

Neighsayers have reached a majority on the bill to subsidize the equine industry. It will be passed in secret, night, session like another insidious drug or insurance bill enacted not so long ago. This will create a nightmare for reining in costs.

Reference the escalating medical costs: hospitals should follow the VA model and not attempt to have every high-tech device at each hospital. Have regional centers with the specialized equipment. Some hospitals become referrals to those sites. Duplication of high cost equipment inflates the costs both in terms of investment and causes unneeded procedures to pay for the equipment.

What does a segue? Moving on….

New book recommended by the Surgeon General: The Humerus Approach to Arm Surgery.

Here in MN we have an honest politician running for office. Al Frankin is a humorist and a satirist and is a candidate for the Senate. I consider him a serious contender.

Suggestion on outsourcing of medicinal raw materials, food, and lead infested toys etc. We should reinstitute the Official Taster (tester) role used by kings in times past. They checked for poison before the king ate. Mandate that the executives of the companies importing the items use the products in their homes before the public uses them. Might lead to correction of the problem (or ingestion of lead).

Our national IOU is becoming a we-owe-them.

Balancing the budget-a new pare-a-dime.

To stop all earmarks immediately, I recommend that the guilty parties have a double lobeotomy, and if violations continue, a double lobotomy. Never mind.

I doubt that military spending properly reflects the costs of replacing equipment for the reserves and national guard units here in the states that has been sent to and consumed in Iraq/Afghanistan.

Due to their declining market share, President Bush urged the auto makers to develop new carmas.
