Rambler 32

This one, from 2008, was showing as a draft in the archives.   I am posting it although it may be the 2nd time.

A new play about Wall Street is opening Off Broadway (actually it will be offshore). It is called “Scamalot.” Key roles are Sir Gladhand and Sir Loanalot. The stars are guaranteed high pay. It will play in sub-prime time. If the movie fails, investors will be bailed out by Congress. The sequel “Skimalot” (about Congress) is planned for this fall.

North Korea backed out of its nuclear agreement again. Is this defection of an alien nation?

I will say again, the next senator or congressman/woman who uses an earmark should have a lobotomy (I am currently talking about the ears since there appears to be no sign of intelligence). Votes and accountability should be required for all spending schemes.

The National Forest Products Lab in Madison, WI, announced that its studies to prevent wood from twisting when moist are proceeding at warp speed.

Cities are flouting national laws on immigration by stating they are sanctuaries. Why should we obey the laws? I forgot-those who write the laws get to pick and choose which laws they will obey, or they amend the laws-which is why they cities have altermen.

To reduce tension, I took up woodworking. After buying a coping saw, I felt immediate relief.

Without an election, Paulsen has become Sub Prime Minister!

A recent item on The Discovery Channel revealed that the noise and light we see on TV between stations are caused by space particles that are constantly bombarding us. They are doing a follow up series: “Drizzly Atoms.”

Job ad: level headed person wanted for an operation that is going full tilt.

Governor Palin is said to be getting her Berings Strait on Russia.

Quadrillion: 1 giant step for national debt; 1 small step for current politicians. (I better look up the next multiple at the rate we are going-is it quintillion?)

Hundreds of thousands of natural gas cars are in use in Europe but not here. Does anyone in Congress or the Senate pay attention to current events?

When it comes to our current government (executive and legislative branches): never have so few done so little for so many at such great costs.

To conserve energy super glue is banned. Only ordinary glue is authorized henceforth-my rule and I’m sticking to it.

Rail lines pulled up thousands of miles of rail and sold the right of way some years back. This will prove interesting as we try to develop bullet trains.

Rapala’s new line of fishing lures has been referred to its add hook committee for review.

I believe in the ethernet, but not the ether bunny.
