Two items being recommended for induction into the marketing hall of fame: mesquite, and landscaping logs. Mesquite has become a barbecue staple the other a landscaping staple. Both are examples of trash (mesquite is a nuisance plant/tree, the landscaping logs are the centers/remnants of logs that were used to create veneer) being sold out of state resulting in a profit rather than keeping them in state with the expense of waste handling. Isn’t marketing wonderful? (The Southeast U.S. is said to have a group looking into marketing kudzu.)

With the rise in: autism, ALS, MS, etc, is any study being done to determine the cause? Is it caused by fertilizers, aluminum (in use for 70 or so years), fuel additives, and dangerous contents in cosmetics….? Some of the chemicals, metals, food additives, medicines may take a couple of generations to show their health implications-unlike thalidomide which did it immediately. Agent Orange is still impacting Vietnamese (and Veterans). With past cover-ups of asbestos, lead, Viox….who knows what the causes are.
