Paulsen says the bailout was caused by WMD-weapons of monetary destruction. This is the second time WMD has cost the taxpayers a trillion dollars.
The European big bang cyclotron startup has been delayed for months. The new, $8 billion, super collider was shut down because of a short. For $8 billion you would think it would be a long. This is a case of “more bucks for the bang.”
Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley were recently allowed to become banks. This gives them one more option for a taxpayer bailout. Two more firms are now in the category: “too large to allow to fail.” Isn’t our government great?
Why was selling short outlawed for a few days? Our government has been selling voters short for years.

Fannie and Freddie- have we just delayed our national bankruptcy? We have further concentrated our banking/insurance/investment firms. What happened to antitrust? With the further concentrations of: banks, investment firms, etc. just think of the next iteration of this problem. The last one was 19 years ago (a generation) the Savings and Loan Fiasco. If you don’t believe in evolution, just watch, this will come back in another form within a generation. At my age, I may not see the next go around. That’s why it is such a grave concern.
